I didn’t catch this one in theaters, but I did watch it at home, and I was sold on why it is such an exceptional film. I have always liked Jordan Peele, and I was shocked by his ability to tell such a dark and disturbing story on film. He’s always been a real funny guy, so I wasn’t convinced he could (or should) have made his directorial debut a thriller. I mean, comedy is his forte, but man Get Out was incredibly well shot, well told, the twist was sinister and sickening, and I connected with these characters a lot more than I was expecting.
Plus, there is something funny about Peele making the TSA agent a kind of hero, when so many people crap all over them, myself included (when it is warranted).
Anyway, I am not going to spoil anything here, but I can tell you that Get Out will keep you wondering and entertain you on a level you haven’t experienced in quite some time. Highly recommend checking it out, for free especially!
