It’s officially fall. Time for cooler weather, the leaves to change colors, and Halloween decorations…except here in South Florida. Our cooler weather is still hot and our leaves don’t change colors. We do, however decorate for Halloween. Speaking of Halloween, it’s almost time for the annual Food Network event “Halloween Wars”. I look forward to this every year. It’s always amazing how people get so imaginative about their Halloween creations, and it always gives me the Halloween spirit.
If you’ve forgotten how “Halloween Wars” works, it starts out with six teams. Each team includes a pumpkin carving expert, a cake artist, and a sugar artist. The teams compete to create Halloween-themed displays. Of course, this is Food Network, so their displays have to be edible too! One team is eliminated at the end of each episode, until only the winning team is left to be the Halloween Wars Champion!
“Halloween Wars” is hosted by Jonathan Bennett (“Cupcake Wars”), who will be joined each week by judges Shinmin Li (a renowned cake decorator) and Don Mancini (writer/director of the horror film Child’s Play). In addition, there will be an additional guest judge every week. See below for the list of airing dates, themes, and guest judges:
Sunday, October 2nd at 9pm ET/PT – “Witches vs. Warlocks” (with special guest judge, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark)
Sunday, October 9th at 9pm ET/PT – “Haunted Motel” (with special guest judge, actor and horror icon Sid Haig from the classic movie “Halloween”)
Sunday, October 16th at 9pm ET/PT – “Two Faced” (with special guest judge actress Carlson Young from the television series “Scream”)
Sunday, October 23rd at 9pm ET/PT – “Mausoleum Mayhem” (with special guest judge Greg Plotkin the director of “Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension”
Sunday, October 30th at 9pm ET/PT – “Demonic Wedding” (with special guest judge actress Bitsie Tulloch from “Grimm”)
I can’t wait to watch this year’s installment of “Halloween Wars” and I hope you are looking forward to it too! Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!
