“A tale as old as time . . . “
Since I enjoyed Disney’s live-action version of Cinderella, I was intrigued to learn that Beauty and the Beast would soon get the same treatment, starring Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) to boot!! I watched the teaser trailer today, and while it didn’t reveal much, it revealed enough.
This looks to have the same look and feel as Disney’s original animated film. The music was similar, the sets look fantastic, even the dialogue was familiar. My only concern is Emma Watson’s attempt at a French accent. The trailer didn’t reveal much of that. I hope that she can pull it off. Otherwise, this looks like it will be an amazing film.
Also starring Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Ian McKellen, and Emma Thompson, Beauty and the Beast opens in U.S. theaters on March 17, 2017.
