When the first Fantastic Beasts film came out, it was like a magical gift. And I was hopeful that it would be a resounding success, because I am definitely a fan of the entire Wizarding World. Thankfully, it was so well received that we now have the sequel, and the characters, we have been clamoring for ever since we learned about the enigmatic Headmaster Dumbledore’s past.
Now that we have a trailer, it’s like, this is real. We are about to see a new Dumbledore, with Jude Law playing a young man on a mission of urgency.
Professor Dumbledore sends his most trusted student, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to Paris. Of course Newt can’t go alone; he again enlists the help of his favorite muggle, Jacob Kowalski (Dan ‘luckiest guy on the planet’ Fogler) who will provide top notch American slapstick comedy relief, no doubt.
Swift take: I have really high expectations of this sequel, as J.K. Rowling will be introducing us to some legendary characters we’ve only ever caught remote historical glimpses of in the past. As with all ensemble stories, it will be a challenge to keep all the moving parts interesting and engaging. And will we get enough of the characters we want to see, or will we be left wanting more? A quick scroll through the cast list on IMDb is tempting me to use the legilimency spell on Rowling or Director David Yates to find out everything now! But, I guess we’ll just have to wait until November.
BESIDES DUMBLEDORE . . . Which character are you most looking forward to meeting in this film?
