Chef: Is written, stars, and is directed by Jon Favreau, along with some of his buddies from Marvel, Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and wacky John Leguizamo. He somehow managed to land Dustn Hoffman as well!
Swift take: Favreau is no stranger to anyone. Ever since he directed Iron Man, I have been impressed with his work behind the camera. He’s always been a cult favorite actor of mine as well, since Swingers and Very Bad Things . . . one of my favorite dark comedies. Some of this was shot locally, it would have been nice, Jon, to get an invite to sample some of the mobile chow, but it’s all good.
From what I am reading so far, and I think it’s good advice, don’t go see this one with an empty stomach! It’ll be serving up some comedy in select theaters in Miami May 16th. Check your local listings . . . do I even have to say that anymore?
