When I watched “Bride Wars” I kept thinking “thank goodness” . . . I was in three weddings in the past four years, and the brides were nothing like the spoiled bridezillas in the film. Thank you ladies!
In “Bride Wars”, Liv (Kate Hudson) and Emma (Anne Hathaway) are lifelong friends whose weddings are mistakenly booked for the same day. At this point, the friendship is over and the war begins.
The girls played prank after prank on each other, including but not limited to: causing one girl to gain enough weight so her wedding gown didn’t fit; fiddling with a spray tan machine to turn skin orange; and purposely causing hair to be dyed blue. It was like the “Mean Girls” were walking down the aisle.
These weren’t girls though, and one would expect grown women to have more class, but these leading ladies certainly didn’t. Both of them were so bitchy; I just had no sympathy for either character. Their malicious ways made for mediocre comedy and turned what was supposed to be a happy occasion into a catastrophe.
Did the weddings go off without a hitch?? Did the girls ever make up?? You will have to watch the movie to find out!! Isn’t the suspense killing you?
There were some funny parts, and I couldn’t help but laugh at the ridiculousness watching these ladies battle it out.
“Bride Wars” is a good cautionary flick to watch with the girls. Guys may like the eye candy but most probably won’t be able to endure this one.
