When the series ended, Vince (Adrian Grenier) was headed to Paris to marry a woman he had just met. Ari (Jeremy Piven) quit his job as a successful agent and was moving to Florence with Mrs. Ari (Perrey Reeves). Eric (Kevin Connolly) and his on again off again girlfriend Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui) boarded a plane to New York, since Sloan was moving there because she was pregnant with Eric’s baby. Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) was riding high on the success of his vodka company. And Drama (Kevin Dillon) was still waiting for his big break.
Nine days later, the boys are on a yacht, headed to Vince’s divorce party. Vince’s marriage to Sophie is over…after nine days. The boys remind him that his was not the shortest marriage in Hollywood history (that honor goes to Britney Spears). Eric is back from New York, as he and Sloan are off again. But not to worry, there is a bevy of bikini-clad women around for the boys to ogle at. While at the party, Vince is given a script for a movie and he decides he wants to direct his first film.
Back on land, Ari decides to take the job offered to him during the end credits scene of the series finale. He is now the head of a studio, and very important indeed. Vince teams up with his former agent and gets Ari to agree to let Vince direct, and star in, his own movie.
Fast forward eight months. Vince’s movie is way over budget. He dosesn’t want to show it to anyone until it’s finished, but they need more money to finish the special effects. So Ari has to fly to Texas to beg the film’s financial backer Larsen McCredle (Billy Bob Thornton) for more money. Before he will agree to increasing the budget, he wants Ari to take his son Travis (Haley Joel Osment) to LA and show him a good time.
Meanwhile, Turtle begins dating Ronda Rousey (as herself) who scares me so that’s all I’m going to say about that. Sloan is back in LA and very close to giving birth, but Eric gets involved with several different woman, and humorous complications ensue. Drama has a small (four scenes) role in Vince’s movie. Unfortunately, Travis is a little turd and insists on cutting his scenes, or else he’ll tell his father not to increase Vince’s budget.
Will Vince be able to finish his movie? Is it any good (the few minutes that they showed actually looked really good, I wish it was a real movie!)? Will Drama finally get the recognition he craves? And what happens between Turtle and Ronda Rousey? All that and more, in Entourage the movie!
Jam-packed with celebrity cameos (including Mark Wahlberg, who the series is based on), Entourage was funny, and fans of the series will enjoy the movie. Don’t leave when the credits begin to roll, as what I think is one of the best scenes of the film occurs mid-credits. It was basically a 90-minute episode of the series, but it sure was a fun ride.
